I've done the cola test (I prefer Coke. . . not that I drink any of it, because I don't really like carbonated beverages) and also conducted a blind peanut butter taste test, which was fabulous fun. Like the root beer, you'd never guess that they can be so incredibly different from each other. It was so nice to meet Karen, Beth, and co. if you're reading this, I send my love!Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05559108168366646120noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3612760154536789094.post-54131905569842677742011-06-29T15:02:45.890-07:002011-06-29T15:02:45.890-07:00I actually love A&W, but find Barq's more ...I actually love A&W, but find Barq's more available. Root beer is always my beverage of choice. Never could find it in Virginia. But here in UT, it's almost everywhere. Great story. Sadly I don't think they have a sugar free version. But We should all go to Scotland and be a panel of American IRN-BRU tasters! I am up for it are you?dancramhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01015356891370290397noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3612760154536789094.post-92061318619766763442011-06-28T19:05:10.481-07:002011-06-28T19:05:10.481-07:00I could have told you the Aussie one would be awfu...I could have told you the Aussie one would be awful. Australian root beers are unequivocally revolting. Without a doubt you are correct in selecting Henry Weinhard's as the best label you had on the panel. If you want a few nice ones to add to future trials I would suggest Virgil's and Saranac. Both are a bit hard to find, but I've had Virgil's in Utah and here in PA. Nice deep blend of spices. Saranac is a pretty serious Utica microbrewry, so they don't put their name on sodas carelessly. Good head on that one.The Cannonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14448657753448366372noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3612760154536789094.post-81365516586171215022011-06-28T18:38:15.073-07:002011-06-28T18:38:15.073-07:00Henry winehards is easily our favorite in the Gill...Henry winehards is easily our favorite in the Gillespie home...we have preferred it for years. We prefer to make our own rootbeer, plus the kids absolutely love the "rootbeer slush" that the dry ice makes. But, if we don't have time for that we usually end up at Whole Foods trying out something new. We haven't found a favorite yet. I hope you're having a great summer!Kellihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05619803072235072950noreply@blogger.com
